Types of Infections and Their Causes

Overview

Infection takes place when a microorganism gets into the human body and casues damage.

The microorganism thus uses the person's body to give strength to replicate and establish a colony. These microscopic organisms that cause infections are called pathogens. Pathogens multiply rapidly and can spread infection in many distinct ways. These infectious organisms are disparate and can be composed of things like.

1. Bacterial infection

2. Parasitic infection

3. Staph Infection

4. Viral infections

5. Sepsis Infection

6. Skin Infection

7. Fungal Skin Infection

So let’s take a deep analysis and learn about Types of infections, causes, and their treatments respectively.

Types of Infections and Their Causes

Types, Causes and Treatments of Infections

In this section, we will explore various types of infections, how they spread into a person's body, and what types of organisms cause infections. So lets’ dig deep into it.

Bacterial infection

Single-cell organisms that live almost everywhere are called bacteria. Bacteria are microscopic organisms and are very miscellaneous, coming in a variety of distinct sizes and shapes. Bacteria can be ascertained in almost all sorts of environments, including in or on human bodies, soil, and bodies of water. Some bacteria can survive utmost temperatures or even exposure to radiation.

Causes

Bacterial infections are caused by the dissemination of bacteria. A human body can be exposed to bacterial infection.

through the environment

come in contact with other people

from eating contaminated food

from drinking contaminated water

Anyone could get sick when exposed to bacteria. A severe bacterial infection can make you more susceptive when having a weak immune system or taking immunosuppressant

Parasitic infection

Parasites often do not cause disease as it after all leads to the death of the host and organism.Several parasites don’t substantially impact their hosts. The parasites can be large enough to see with the naked eye or can be microscopic. Parasites remain alive by feeding from the host.Parasites can also spread infections that can cause sepsis

Causes

Three types of organisms can cause parasitic infections.

Protozoa

Single-celled organisms that can multiply and live inside your body are called Protozoa.  Protozoa can cause infections like giardiasis.

Helminths

Multi-celled organisms that can survive in or outside of your body are called Helminths.

Ectoparasites

Multi-celled organisms that live on or subsist on your skin are called Ectoparasites.

Staph Infection

Staphylococcus (or "staph") bacteria cause staph infection. One type of Staphylococcus aureus is called Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus also known as MRSA. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is impervious to the antibiotic methicillin and other drugs of this type.

Causes

Staphylococcus (staph) infections can cause diseases due to the production of toxins by bacteria or due to direct infection to the person's body. Here are some examples of diseases that can be caused by staph. Please take a look Signs of Bed Bugs and Their Treatment.

1.Boils

2.impetigo

3.cellulitisfood

4. poisoning

5.and toxic shock syndrome

Staph Infection Treatment

Staph infection treatment may include

Antibiotics

Staph infection can be treated by antibiotics.Antibiotics that are prescribed commonly to treat staph infections include nafcillin or oxacillin; daptomycin (Cubicin); telavancin (Vibativ); linezolid (Zyvox) or cephalosporins such as cefazolin.

Wound drainage

An incision will be made by your doctor into the sore to drain fluid that has been stored, there, if you get a skin infection.

Device removal

Prompt removal of the device is needed when infection involves a prosthetic or device. Surgery might be required by removal, for some devices.

Viral infections

A virus on the most primary level is composed of a piece of inherited material that's enclosed by a protein shell. Most viruses are parasitic and hence require a host cell to carry out their life cycle. The virus has when entered the host cell, is able to use cellular components to multiply. From the host cell, new viruses are then released.

Causes

Viruses are very tiny infectious agents than bacteria. They multiply rapidly within the cells of a person's body. An infection with a virus causes viral fever. Most of the viruses are sensitive to shifts a person's body into temperature, so an instant increase in human's body temperature makes him less convivial to viral viruses.

Sepsis Infection

A life-threatening sickness caused by a person's body reacts to infection is called Sepsis. You can be protected from many illnesses and infections by your immune system.

The immune system when releases the chemicals into the bloodstream to resist infection, Sepsis develops. It causes inflammation throughout the body. Severe cases like septic shock can be caused by sepsis.

Causes

Sepsis can be caused by an infection, but Bacterial infections are the most common to cause sepsis. Sepsis infection can also be caused by parasitic, fungal, or viral infections.

The most common types of infection that are more likely to cause sepsis include;

1.pneumonia

2.abdominal infection

3.kidney infection

4.bloodstream infection

5.The skin

6.The central nervous system

Skin Infection

In human body, largest organ is called skin. The major skin function is to provide protection from infection but, sometimes the skin gets infected itself.

A skin infection is defined a condition in which germs infect the deep tissues underneath it sometimes and cause infection in your skin.

Causes

Various varieties of germs can lead to skin infections; can vary from minor to serious. Mild infections can be treated with home remedies without a prescription of medication, whereas severe infections may need medical attention.

Skin infection is caused by a parasite that pervades your skin. Skin infection can come in contact any time your skin gets broken, whether from a tattoo, piercing, sting, bite, or a cut.

Fungal Skin Infection

A skin disease caused by a fungus is known as a fungal skin infection. Fungi usually don’t cause any problem, unless they spread and increase exponentially than normal.

Fungi live everywhere and are millions of species. Fungi can be found in dirt, on household surfaces, on plants, and or even on your skin. Sometimes, they can cause skin problems like bumps, rashes, or discoloration of the skin.

Types of Fungal Skin Infection

1Different types of fungal infections are listed below;

2.athlete’s foot

3.yeast infection

4.ringworm

5.nail fungus

6.oral thrush

7.diaper rash
